JP Magill has a driving passion for delivering solutions to small and mid-sized companies. His career spans a professional and entrepreneurial journey of nearly three decades with a focus on building and developing HR functions in high growth and high change environments.

As the founder and president of HRX, an HR outsourcing and business strategy firm launched in 2010 and based in Houston, Texas, JP advises growing companies on the day-to-day issues of solving people problems. For close to 30 years, JP has been building on the experience he gains daily and while working in leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to forming HRX, JP founded and built a multimillion-dollar company where he served as president. JP provided HR expertise, leadership and guidance to his own business as well as to clients’ executive leadership and managers. JP has worked across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, construction, technology, retail and professional services. In 2007 and 2008, Texas A&M University named him to the Aggie 100 list, honoring his company as one of the fastest-growing Aggie-owned and operated companies in the world.

Additionally, JP has held HR management positions at Energy Alloys, Integrated Electrical Services, FMC, Corporate Express Inc., APS Holdings Inc., and Oshman’s Sporting Goods.

JP obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He currently serves on the university’s Mays School of Business MBA Advisory Board and facilitates the Mays Entrepreneur Roundtable (MERT), a forum he founded to help aspiring entrepreneurs engage in professional development opportunities.

JP is often called upon to speak to business groups, associations, chambers, and companies on a variety of HR and business topics.
